So I’ve have had alternating problems of constipation and diarrhea for the past 3 weeks there was a week where i had gas like none other.. there are some days where I’m fine after meals.. then when i go to defecate it just all comes out wrong.. and there are days where i get sick after a meal.. like i will lose my appetite during the meal and i will have a bad case of diarrhea which will last all day.. what could this be and how could i change it..would any intestinal cleansing products cure this such as Activia or should i flat out go to a doctor?
Chosen Answer:
Well the first thing anyone should say is , “Yes go to the Doctor”. But he will likely just prescribe you some type of dietary fiber supplement. Fiber is the most important element for your colon. Eat some blueberries , grapes and blue fruits, any kind. This will help. I had some surgery to remove a polyp last year so I have read an endless amount regarding colons. Drastic changes like yours needs an expert opion. Also be sure to check for blood in your stool. Too much red meat is really bad for your system. A colon cleanse type cleaner is risky with your issues as it may disrupt your healthy bacteria.

In this text, a leading specialist in gastroenterology focuses on some of the most common problems of the lower intestinal tract – the bowel or “gut” – and offers new ways of coping with afflictions and reliable approaches to prevention. Dr Janowitz explains new methods and instruments of diagnosis and outlines the risks they carry. In addition, he shows how to determine whether such day-to-day problems as diarrhoea, constipation and rectal bleeding should be treated at home or brought to a doctor’s attention. Covering the wide range of colonic and intestinal disorders, from the most common irritable bowel syndrome, to more serious complaints like ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, colon cancer and sexually transmitted disorders, the author provides basic information on the symptoms and causes of each problem, the possible diagnostic tests, recommended treatments and outlook. Dr Janowitz also discusses high fibre diets, food allergies and the impact of a person’s emotions on his or her lower intestine.
